From The Desk of The President: August Community Gathering

Come hear her share her story….

Theresa K

Theresa Kitto is a retired Speech-Language Pathologist with over 40 years of experience serving individuals with complex communication and cognitive needs. She spent 17 years in hospital settings specializing in rehabilitation for stroke and traumatic brain injury patients, including 11 years as Manager of Speech-Language Pathology services for a major hospital system in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She later transitioned to school-based practice, working with students with developmental disabilities.

Her perspective on the justice system changed dramatically when her son Michael was incarcerated in Michigan for 3.5 years, providing her firsthand insight into the challenges faced by incarcerated individuals and their families from arrest to reentry. That experience became even more profound when Michael was wrongfully charged and convicted of murder following a tragic accident in 2022. Despite no crime being committed, Michael is currently serving a life without parole sentence in a private prison in Ohio.

In this deeply personal presentation, Theresa will share her family's story of navigating the justice system twice. She will discuss incarceration, wrongful convictions, and the urgent need for justice reform. Join our community gathering now to share resources for supporting wrongfully convicted individuals and their families, while fostering dialogue on solutions to transform our justice system.

Theresa Kitto will be our special P2P guest on Monday, August 11th, at 5:00 pm Pacific time. Come hear Theresa share her experience. We encourage you to join us and invite others to this free 1-hour event.
