Rory Andes is the Co-Director of Just Us Solutions, LLC, an organization dedicated to advancing broad and humane solutions for people impacted by the criminal legal system, including those who have been incarcerated, families, legal system agents, and victims. A two-tour combat veteran of the war in Iraq, Rory returned home carrying significant psychological trauma. Without adequate support, that trauma manifested in alcoholism and addiction, ultimately leading to a 144-month sentence in the Washington State Department of Corrections. During incarceration, he witnessed how untreated trauma fuels recidivism and how returning to unsupported communities recreates the conditions that lead people back to prison.

Today, Rory brings that lived experience into his leadership at Just Us Solutions and his work as a contractor with the Washington State Office of Public Defense. He also serves on the boards of Communities of Belonging and the Prison Mathematics Project. With a business degree and ongoing education, Rory believes trauma is a primary barrier to successful reentry, healing is a requirement, and no one should be defined by their worst moment.
