Red Pill or Blue Pill?

Synopsis: The last program I graduated from was MRT: Moral Reconation Therapy. There was an MRT counselor who taught us the importance of 'radical acceptance'. The concept of radical acceptance is the complete acceptance of things for how they truly are which then gives you a more realistic perspective from which to manage a situation. You have to be willing to see the whole picture and not dismiss something just because you don't want to believe what you're seeing is true.

My talk will address the elephant in the room, which is the financial benefit that results from locking up an unacceptable number of our population. The land of the free, the cornerstone of capitalism, hasn't beat all other nations in incarceration rates because we're the most lawless country on the globe. Some have found a way to capitalize on the law. My talk will focus on how we create programs that help people who, and those who are most likely to, become victims to the system while still providing a way (outside of the prison system) for capital to flow to those who are monetarily benefitting by keeping things as they are. Fifteen to twenty minutes is not enough time to accurately conceptualize how this is possible, but it is enough time to plant the seeds of possibility. I will share a look into a way I believe this could be possible.
